Ceylon Sapphire Engagement Rings

Every ring we make starts with the stone: a certified natural Ceylon sapphire you choose loose, see on video or in person, and approve before it is set. Sapphire measures 9 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond, so a well-made ring is worn daily for a lifetime. Tell us what you have in mind and a gemologist will guide you from first message to final ring.

Which Sapphire Suits an Engagement Ring?

Any Ceylon sapphire wears well in a ring; the choice is about colour and character, not durability.

A Ceylon blue sapphire is the classic engagement choice, the one most people picture. A pink sapphire reads warmer and more individual, a white sapphire is the quiet alternative to a diamond, and a teal or parti stone makes the most contemporary ring of all. Padparadscha, the rarest Ceylon colour, sits between pink and sunset orange and is a ring few others will ever have.

The bespoke journey

How Does a Bespoke Commission Work?

01 Choose the stone Pick a certified sapphire from the collection, or tell us the colour, size and budget and we will source options to your brief.
02 Design the setting Talk the design through on WhatsApp or a video call. We agree the setting, the metal and the full quote before anything is made.
03 See the stone first Approve the exact stone against its laboratory report, on video or in person in Colombo, before it is set.
04 Delivered insured The finished ring travels fully insured, door to door, with its certificate and our invoice.
Start the conversation

Tell Us What You Have in Mind

A commission starts as a conversation, not an order. Describe the ring, the stone or the budget you are thinking of, and a gemologist will reply personally within one working day.

Nothing is reserved, charged or binding until you decide. If you are not sure where to start, say so; most couples are not, and that is what the conversation is for.

I will help you choose the stone the way I would choose one for my own family: on the certificate, the colour in daylight and the price per carat, not the story attached to it.

Wedding and eternity bands

Do You Make Wedding Bands as Well?

Yes. We make wedding and eternity bands to commission alongside the engagement ring, plain or set with Ceylon sapphires, matched to the ring in metal, colour and finish.

A band commissioned with the ring is designed as a pair from the start, so the two sit together properly on the hand. Bands follow the same journey as a ring: agree the design and the quote first, then the making, then insured delivery. If your engagement ring came from elsewhere, we can design a band around it.

The case for sapphire

Why Choose a Sapphire Engagement Ring?

Because very few stones combine lasting hardness with real colour. A sapphire is hard enough for a lifetime of daily wear, and it gives you a colour a diamond never can.

It is also honest value. The stone drives the price of a sapphire ring far more than the setting does, and carat for carat a fine Ceylon sapphire costs a fraction of a comparable diamond. Our guides explain how the 4Cs work in a sapphire and what a Ceylon sapphire costs per carat, so you can judge a stone the way we do.

Every stone we sell carries an independent laboratory report, and any treatment is stated plainly on it. If you are weighing a heated stone against an unheated one, the difference is rarity and price, never durability.

Questions Couples Ask

The Stone Comes First

Every ring we make begins with a certified natural Ceylon sapphire you have seen and approved, on video or in person, before it goes anywhere near a setting. The certificate names the stone, the design serves it, and that order never reverses.
